LOST ART OF LETTER WRITING

I love sending and receiving mail and in a time that has become so digital I wanted to focus on a form of communication that has become more and more scarce but holds more beauty then any other form.

The Lost Art of Letter Writing is a book with a physically interactive piece that examines the tactility, emotion and legacy that is within snail mail. Quotes taken from research in the exploration of the facts and feelings concerning handwritten snail mail from present and past people fill the book and create a sentimental experience for the reader.

The interactive mail box was created along with a set of postcards to engage the audience at FIT's MDC Process Show in sending mail. The project was successful, all postcards were placed in the mailbox to be sent to the addressed recipients and carrying written messages of greetings.
